I know this video is not very professional at all, but I thought it was really informative

Pipeline project week 1
So turns out liquid latex is hard to find when its not Halloween, but I'm going on a hunt for it this week again so I can start experimenting.
I know that the directors want to bring someone in for the big elaborate face piece, but I figured I can work on some bite marks and maybe the bullet wound or something
So I was watching tutorials all weekend instead
Walking Dead tutorial
2nd tutorial
I'm really excited about working with it!

Group Project proposal
I really enjoy abandoned buildings, the beauty of something worn down and the idea that there used to be something there, something living. Whether it had been a family's home, an old train station, or an old subway. Then how it becomes a creepy place, where graffiti over takes the distressed wall.
I think it would be interesting to create scene in an abandoned space as if it had never been worn down. The message being how things that were once used can easily be abandoned and how nature takes over.
I really like this example

here are some of my favorites

I really like this artist too, but she makes her scene entirely, I want to mix using real world abandoned places and creating a scene ourselves
Forgottenohio.com gives great sites for this too
As far as roles go, I don't nessecarily want to be the director, if someone really likes my idea and wants to run with it, I'm okay with that

Final
I hope
I've worked for many hours in a program I was not very familiar with, and now feel fairly comfortable with it
However from now on, I will probably stick to photography
I'm going to try and make it bigger though, I don't know why it automatically loads in so small

Ice cream truck
In the spirit of not waiting until Monday night I have started progress immediately, I looked at many pictures of ice cream trucks and tried to pick iconic easily recognizable things for my 8 slots
I will probably do more refining to my truck as the week goes on, but this is what I came up with tonight
I'm not sure how I feel about the topper or if I should show more of the creature serving the ice cream or if he should be driving away, it's still up in the air
I'll probably ad more to the front of the truck and add more detail in the window

Through this project I've really been learning a lot about illustrator, starting with nothing there was really no where to go but up. In this one in particular I started to use both line tool and free hand because I thought the lines would make it look more like a structured truck instead of the "straight" line I could draw. In my painting and color theory class we've been using illustrator a lot too and one of my biggest weaknesses is the pen tool, not sure why, just doesn't make sense to me, but I'm trying to incorporate that more to better understand.

Updates
so first, here is the refined, clearer color palette
I decided to go with the more pastel colors
Also I thought the presentation on Thursday was really interesting and wanted to associate it in my project
I want to animate the rain that is going to be pouring on the sad creature even though he's the one with ice cream so here is the first second third attempt at creating a gif and also I've been working on putting my scene together.
