About

Hello! I'm Sarah Freelan, current freshman at the Columbus College of Art and Design. My love for photography started in my sophomore year of high school when my dad stopped taking pictures at the high school. My dad has been a photographer as a hobby, and more recently a part time job, but I've always been around it. My sophomore year I started taking pictures of the show choir in my home town, and also the high school productions. I continued this all through out high school and then started doing more. I started travelling to Toledo with my dad and took promotional pictures of plays at their local theater. Then I moved up to assisting my dad in wedding photography, senior pictures, and head shots. We also started volunteering at the Animal Protective League (APL) in Cleveland in which we take pictures mainly for the website so everyone can view the animals but my pictures have also been featured as promotional shots in the Cleveland newspaper, The Plain Dealer and in the APL calender. Finally during my Senior year I did an independent study creating my own projects including creating calenders and an alphabet book. At the end of the school year I participated in senior project, which allowed me to go on an internship my last month of my senior year. I shadowed Christopher Norris who is a wedding and portrait photographer in Cleveland where I watched photographers and the post production process as well.
Which takes me to where I am today!
